Terms of Use
Last updated: 10 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Oku, a journal app for iPhone made by Muhammad Darrel Prawira (“we”).
Apple’s license
Oku is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
These terms add a few things that are specific to Oku. If the two ever disagree, Apple’s agreement wins.
Your writing
Everything you write in Oku, and the photos, moods, places and people you add, belongs to you. We claim no rights over it, and we cannot see it.
Free, as it is
Oku is free. It is offered as it is, without any warranty, as far as the law allows. We work to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise it will always work without errors.
Keeping a copy
Your journal lives on your iPhone. If iCloud sync is off and the iPhone is lost, replaced or reset without a backup, your entries are lost with it. Turn on iCloud sync in Oku or back up your iPhone to keep a copy. A deleted entry stays in Recently Deleted for 30 days, then it is gone for good.
Apple services
iCloud sync, Apple Maps and the on-device AI features are provided by Apple and follow Apple’s terms. Some of them depend on your device, region or settings: the AI features need a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
AI suggestions
Title suggestions, body polish and photo captions are made by a model and can be wrong. You decide whether to keep them, and a polished body can be restored to what you wrote.
Changes
Oku may change as it is updated. If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
